Important In-Character Plot Positions
This page is dedicated to a list of our in-character plot positions including but not limited to: gods, Ethers, royals, political positions, Ancient Firsts and more! This includes both applied-for positions (that an existing personal OC may fill, as it is a position) and site canons (such as canonical gods, which belong to BTACD)! Remember that in the first case, you create the character, and it is the position your character will fill, but in the second, you will play a ready-made canon god that has their characterization, appearance and abilities already fleshed out!
There are no limitations to who can apply for what so long as the position is open, and all open positions are marked in bolded OPEN text! How long you've been a member is not a consideration, so long as you can keep the position activity rules listed below.
Activity Requirements
Every person holding a plot position/applying for a plot position must be active in one or more Plot-Based in-character role-play thread. To hold a position, you must reply at least once every THREE MONTHS in any in-character, Plot-Based thread. This will be periodically checked by staff, and failure to keep to these activity requirements will result in the taking of those positions and opening them to be applied for once more. (If you have made your replies and are waiting on someone else, don't worry, you won't lose your positions! ♥)
Anyone who posts a full inactivity notice for more than three months, disregarding special circumstances, and not including BTACD staff, will have their positions automatically opened.
Exceptions
Special circumstances discussed and approved with staff before the period of inactivity will grant limited immunity from this rule, and allow the keeping of positions for no longer than six months. If, in that time, the position character(s) or canon(s) will be pulled if there is no resume to IC activity.
Examples of circumstances that are a-okay are things like, finals, deaths in the family, travel, illness, a number of family and health circumstances (you come first! you!! not us! ♥), and things of that nature. However, special circumstances do not generally extend to things like being staff on another site (and thus not having time for these positions), 'muselessness' or similar-termed things/a general unwillingness to write for exceedingly long periods of time (but being otherwise active OOCly), and taking positions simply to have positions (with no intention of actually writing those positions). BTACD staff, patrons, and loremasters are excempt from this rule!
Applying
To apply for a plot posiion, please use the ticket system on our Discord. If you do not have a Discord account, feel free to PM a staff member to submit one for you!

Divine Interactions
Gods are the most powerful beings in the Realms. The highest level of these, the First Beings - such as the One and Death - are played by staff only. However, all other gods are able to be claimed and written by normal members, and inserted into threads when their writer pleases!
As these gods are so powerful, they need to watch their involvement and make certain that whatever they do the balance is not upset. Greater Gods will be more restrictive in what they do than those of lesser power. Lesser gods, however, are also often restricted to whatever they reign over. Keep these things in mind when writing your gods!
However- god favor items must take precedence over any regular divine interactions!
Levels of Involvement
Greater Gods || can travel anywhere, at any time
- have the greatest amount of power; and thus must have the most self control
- do not often visit mortals in their full forms; instead use Aspects
- divine intervention from a Greater God in any extreme degree must be cleared with staff, though smaller scale things are fine
- may do blessings, curses, and local area things periodically, as long as it does not radically change anything large-scale
- do not often do godstorms as those can be incredibly and severely destructive
Lesser Gods || usually restricted to their Realm; may anger other gods if they trespass
- have a large amount of power - but do not often venture beyond their Realm
- may appear to mortals in their full forms or their Aspects depending on the god's whim
- may utilize divine intervention (in their Realm) however they wish, within reason; outside of their Realm must be cleared with staff
- do blessings, curses, and local area things periodically, and do not shy from radical changes (within their Realm)
- may sometimes unleash a godstorm (in their Realm)
Demigods || may travel the Realms but don't often venture away from the greatest concentration of whatever they reign over
- have a decent amount of power; are often actively involved in the workings of the world
- do not often have Aspects, so appear in their normal forms to mortals
- often utilize divine intervention within the area they govern, especially in species demigods
- do blessings and curses with relative frequency
- cannot usually generate enough power to create a godstorm
